Cabinet Minister openly differs with Jubilee plans, supports Governor Joho

Speaking at the launch of the KSh 350 million Cruise Ship Terminal under construction, Balala said he envies some of Joho’s projects.

“Kiosk-economy mentality should not be tolerated in Mombasa. I support Joho’s KSh 2 billion housing project and phasing out of tuk-tuks from the CBD,” said Balala.

He then turned to Joho and told him to stop his petty politics so that he can get all the support he wants.

According to the Star, pundits saw an endorsement in Balala’s comments.

Balala was fronted by the Jubilee Party as a favorite to take on Joho in the 2017 General Election for the Mombasa county gubernatorial seat.
