Maanzo: With Mudavadi and Wetang’ula on board, Luhya vote is locked

Makueni MP Dan Maanzo has now said the opposition is fast growing and will soon send shock waves to the Jubilee Party.

The MP compared the opposition alliance dubbed National Super Alliance (NASA) to the Narc coalition that rose to power in 2002, saying the addition of Musalia Mudavadi now means the Luhya votes are now locked.

“We are looking forward to bringing Kenyans together. We are looking forward to a leadership which is not tribal. So many leaders have come to NASA just like in the case of Narc in 2002 when Mwai Kibaki took power. It is that kind of movement that we are looking forward to,” he told KTN’s Sunday Edition.

“In fact, from the time Mudavadi joined the opposition, you could see the President feeling the big loss because Mudavadi and Wetangula are coming with a big vote bloc from the Luhyas and the moment the two are together, that means the Luhya votes are locked. The same has occurred in Eastern, Nyanza, North Eastern and Coast, really Jubilee’s a two-tribe affair,” he added.

Manzo also noted that the President Uhuru and his camp had exhibited panic and have even termed NASA a grouping of selfish leaders.

“The way things are holding together is very powerful and you can see the heat in the Jubilee camp. You could see how from the way Uhuru spoke about NASA that he was in a panic mode,” he said.
