A group of leaders from the Luhya community have vowed to back Cord leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in 2017.

They said Ababu who has declared his presidential bid will not get votes in the region.
Led by Busia County Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa, they pledged to seek for reelection through the ODM party.
The leaders who included over 30 MCAs said they will personally campaign for Mr Odinga as well as vote for him.
“Raila is our flag bearer and no amount of intimidation, ridicule or denigration will change our resolve to back his bid,” Wangalwa said.
Ababu, ODM’s former Secretary General resigned about four months ago and relaunched the Labour Party of Kenya through which he will seek for reelection in 2017.
He also launched the ‘Third Force’ movement which he said seeks to unite the Luhya community ahead of 2017.
